Frequently Asked Questions

Basically all materials such as metals, plastics, minerals can be clamped - except for silicone.

The workpieces surface has to be grease-free.

Workpieces are frozen in tap water.

Yes. For this purpose adapter pieces are usually used as a support. They are mostly made of aluminum, caused by its good thermal conductivity.

At +5° C workpieces are placed, at -10° C clamped for processing.

Clamping plates can be made of steel, aluminum, brass or copper - depending on customer requirements.

Dimensions of 2 mm diameter up to approximately 2 m² diameter have been realized yet. Larger plates can also be offered, possibly by adding several single plates in order to keep the system tradeable.

Depending on plate size and ambient temperature the change between freezing and thawing normally takes between 2 and 15 minutes.

Basically, we offer two different concepts:

  1. Our types “KT 1” to “KT 5” are designed as compact units. Entire refrigeration and control units are cased in one basic device. Clamping plates are connected to the controller with hoses, which can be unfastened conditioned by our special quick-release connectors. One basic unit can control simultaneously two independent clamping plates.

  2. Our types called “KS” are designed as “split-systems”. Control system parts and reservoir for the cooling liquid are encased in housing, refrigeration is encased in a separate housing and can be placed in appropriate distance or even outside the building.

We offer an additional “shelf-space-system” next to a milling machine on which the free-form clamping plate, moved laterally (mechanically, electrically or pneumatically), can be placed in between while milling machine can continue to be used, with the original vacuum equipment, for example.
